about

Each song is a chapter in a story about the sickness that pervades every bloodline, and each member's will to keep passing the torch to future generations. Each track was a challenge to write and produce in its own way. I hope you enjoy listening to this as much as I enjoyed creating it.

Track Name: I've Always Loved
Hand in hand, hand in hand
Our faces to sea and backs to the land
The wind whips your hair but seems you don’t mind
I’ve always loved that about you.

Sun sets now, lying down
Your body, still warm in your cooling gown
If you’re standing strong, then I must be blind
I’ve always loved that about you.
Track Name: Here Lies Something I Once Found Beautiful
Falling, flying, soaring, crying
But I am just sighing, it’s not satisfying

The wind in my hair, I’m all that is there
Life, what an endeavor, the sky is forever
I see that you feel good, fly higher than I could
The air can hold you here, but what about your fears?

Here lies something I once found beautiful
Here lies something I once found fanciful
Here lies something I once found wonderful
Here lies something that I once compared to you

How could I ever find anything better
The sky is forever, but it doesn't stack up next to you

Here lies something I once found beautiful
Here lies something I once found fanciful
Here lies something I once found wonderful
Here lies something - but I'm so scared of losing you
Track Name: A Song For Adelaide
Adelaide, my beautiful, wonderful
Adelaide, my beautiful, wonderful
What'd you say? Oh, tell me more, tell me more
Adelaide, my sweet summer flower

Adelaide, my beautiful, wonderful
Adelaide, my beautiful, wonderful
What'd you say? Oh, tell me more, tell me more
Adelaide, my sweet summer flower

Adelaide, when night turns to day, you are
Wide awake, and ready to play, but you
Run away, what'd you say, what'd you say?
Adelaide, come back

Adelaide, I want to be, make me your
Saving grace, by loving thee, just tell me
Adelaide, what you need, set you free
Adelaide, come back

Adelaide, my beautiful, wonderful
Adelaide, my beautiful, wonderful
What'd you say? Oh, tell me more, tell me more
Adelaide, my sweet summer flower

Adelaide, my beautiful, wonderful
Adelaide, my beautiful, wonderful
What'd you say? Oh, tell me more, tell me more
Adelaide, my sweet summer flower

Adelaide, what'd you eat for breakfast? I'm
Worrying, you haven't responded to
Anything I've been saying to you since
Adelaide, come back

Adelaide, just please let me know that
You're okay, I haven't seen you since she
Passed away, your mother wouldn't want this
Adelaide, come back

Adelaide, what'd you eat for breakfast? I'm
Worrying, you haven't responded to
Anything I've been saying to you since
Adelaide, come back

Adelaide, my beautiful, wonderful
Adelaide, my beautiful, wonderful
What'd you say? Oh, tell me more, tell me more
Adelaide, my sweet summer flower
Track Name: Bad Dreams & Beautiful Nightmares
Is it truly a nightmare
If it was never meant to scare?
Why would something so beautiful
Make us feel so sad?

One night I had a bad, bad dream
Two ghosts, bound at the seams
And they cried, they had died
Why couldn't they be satisfied?

They were drinking from each other's lips
But never got their fill
And the tears in their eyes
That were never meant to spill

I saw them crying, needing
And screaming atop a hill
Their hands, cold, somehow warm
Never left their partner's lifeless form

They were beautiful to know
But crushing to comprehend
And that's when my nightmare
This bad dream came to an end
Track Name: Fragile Souls
Where do we go when we leave?
What do we abandon our hopes for?
Why does the air I breathe kill me?
Who will miss me when I'm on the floor?

Where every child must guard their face
Where a suburb house sits right in view
Where every conversation ends with
"Where did we go wrong with you?"

I don't want eternal life, but
Nor do I want to die
But every time I lift a blade
I see the reflection of your eyes

Despite it all I wouldn't miss
A day of sun and bright blue sky
I think of you and reminisce
Of the day I saw the life leave your eyes

I lit my heart on fire for you
Two fragile souls beneath our sheets
I lit my heart on fire for you
And the winter froze the quiet heat

I don't want eternal life, but
Nor do I want to die
I don't want to live forever
I don't want to die
I don't want to live forever
I don't want to die

I don't want to
I don't want to think about it

I'm just tired, that's all
Track Name: Mother
There are things I hold in my heart
Too quiet to speak out loud
And if I laid them out on the floor
They would never draw a crowd

And you can’t give an honest answer
When you can’t forget how the question
Sounded when it left my mouth
Your eyes are like a blessing

You look so much like your mother
I never told you that but it’s true
She would’ve loved to hear your laughter
Adelaide she died for you

Your pain isn’t an artwork
It’s just a book with pages torn
I can’t put it up with a magnet
On our refrigerator door

You look so much like your mother
I never told you that but it’s true
She would’ve loved to hear your laughter
Adelaide she died for you

It’s time I leave my past to you
Carry the torch my forefathers lit
Bury it deep within your heart
But don’t let the flames consume it

Why don’t you just twist the knife
You’ve put in my back, prodigal
I know you’ve returned and tended the wounds
But as I’m lying here I can feel the scars again

You look so much like your mother
I never told you that but it’s true
She would’ve love to hear your laughter
But don't you know why I can never see my lover?
Track Name: End Like This
This door to your world
Is closing on me
I knew it so long, but
It’s so hard to see

Your hands in my throat
Aren't helping me breathe
And the lights in the room
Are quickly fading

I didn’t want it to be
But I guess it’s how it ends
And it fell upon me
But I never let it mend

This door to your world
Is closing on me
I let it end like this
And now I’ve lost the key
